Christina,

I agree more than you know. This has been the coldest, iciest winter I can remember in Indiana.

Still, when I think of Al Gore... I have to smile.

I am usually like this by the end of August or let say end of July when I start saying to everyone around me : I am sick and tired of this heat and believe me we have heat!!

Are you getting any fresh snow that will give you beautiful photos? Or is it just the dirty, slushy leftovers of long-gone lovely winteriness?

Leftovers are good when it's dinner. But when it's out on the road and your sidewalk, that's a completely different story.

Have the crocuses decided it's time to pop up yet?

Chris,

This winter is only slightly better than my first one up north here. About 8 years ago we had the worst winter I've seen. This winter is pretty close.

I'm so tired of snow, more snow and then even more...and ice...and cold. But I do wish Al Gore had to live here. I doubt he'd believe much in global warming then.

Dina,

Around August, I will be sick and tired of the heat too. Actually, it's the humidity that I can't stand. Thankfully it doesn't usually get too humid here. Plus, I always know in the back of mind that winter will last soooo....long and spring, summer and fall are all too short!

Skyepuppy,

Yes, we did get fresh snow over the weekend. It was quite pretty, but I'm over taking pictures of it. I just want it to go. Today it is about 45 degrees so the snow will melt and (except for the mountain-sized filthy piles that have been scraped in parking lots) and will only serve to make the ground muddy and soaked until a day or two from now when we get more snow.

And so the cycle goes...probably through March....if we're lucky.

And I laughed at your crocus comment...who knows? I still can't see the ground! But no, I don't believe even the crocus dare peek out until at the very earliest in late March.

I am excited for spring because this year I actually remembered to plant my tulip bulbs (at least 65 of them) in the fall. So I'm hoping for lots of early flowers this spring. That will help.

DO NOT SEND IT TO ME. I am not interested. though i haven't allowed myself to believe it's gone enough to remove the snow shovel from my car.
